ULTRASONOGRAPHY CPD - the small animal series: All courses are small groups (4) based on very practical content. You are invited to bring your own scanner, or equipment can be provided
Sounding out If you are starting clinical examinations from scratch or restarting after a break, this tutorial will leave you with a clear set of priorities and a technique that will enable you to scan the very next day. Includes when and why ultrasound is appropriate, instrument settings and routine screening of abdomen and thorax.
Sound ground For those with experience of scanning problems - bring them to this workshop! Understand more detail of what is happening as you scan. We take some sonograms apart; combine others and learn common interpretation mistakes. Introduction to use cine and storage facilities and understanding user pre-sets for consistency.
Sounding better Get more detail from the scan through a fuller explanation of scanner facilities and practice some of the lesser used techniques, like ophthalmology and ultrasound guided sampling. How to use cine and storage facilities effectively, repeat scans consistently and prepare for echocardiography.
Sound Hearts This workshop is for first opinion clinicians with well-developed skill in abdominal sectioning who want to spend the entire time on echocardiography. Learn the classic left-side heart function, deal with difficult patients, examine for identification of common disorders and monitor treatments.
ULTRASONOGRAPHY CPD - the large animal series
Equine Fertility This practical one and a half day course covers all the theory and practice of breeding management. Horse in various conditions and stages are examined and diagnosed. Entrants must be clinically qualified, insured and have some basic training in manual palpation.
Cattle Fertility for clinicians; A one-day 'on farm' practical workshop for six participants. Breeding theory is covered, practical manual palpation and condition scoring is revised. Good practice in ultrasound examination is covered in detail and correct analysis of results.
